Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a K12 Construction Controls Manager located in Austin, TX. The Construction Controls Manager will oversee project budgeting, supervise staff and manage overall project controls. The role demands strong leadership and project management skills to deliver projects on time and within budget.


Qualifications

  • Strong Supervisory Skills and experience managing construction teams
  • Proficiency in Budgeting and financial management
  • Experience in Construction and Project Control
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work on-site and in office in Austin, TX
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Experience in K12 construction projects is a plus


 General Expectations:


  • Perform detailed final review and sign-off of Contractor’s Pay applications before submission to District for payment processing. 
  • Perform detailed final review and sign-off of Contractor’s change orders, GC allowance, GC buyout savings, CMAR GMP submissions and contingency authorizations before submission to District for processing.
  • Perform detailed final review and sign-off of Architects Invoices before submission to District for payment processing.
  • Perform detailed final review and sign-off of 3rd party Vendors Invoices before submission to District for payment processing.
  • Assist Project Controls team in Reviewing, processing, researching, and paying Construction Services invoices in a timely manner. Address all concerns, requests, and questions related to Construction vendors, Architects, Owners, and staff.
  • Review the monthly report information required and ensure submission of the information by the 7th of each month.


    Responsibilities:


  •  Supervision of Document and Cost Controls Assistants, Coordinators and Specialists as needed.
  • Assist in training and cross training of Controls team in 3rd party contracts, closeouts and invoice processes.
  • Receive and process invoices related to Construction Services projects as authorized and approved.
  • Review, research and resolve invoices with discrepancies.
  • Maintain the Accounts Payable filing system (digital in Egnyte).
  • Supervise the receipt, tracking, and submitting of monthly Custodial OT forms for each construction project when applicable.
  • Reconciliation of Contingency Allowance Expenditure Authorizations (CAEAs), Allowance Expenditure/Reconciliation Authorizations (AERAs) and Contractor’s Contingency Allowance Expenditure Authorizations (CCAEAs) to Construction Services invoices to ensure proper allocations and payments requested.
  •  Manage budget and budget changes in Pro-Core
  • Assist PD in Processes and Procedures as needed.
  • Review and Research Construction Contracts for invoice submission and payment requirements.
  • Maintain detailed tracking of all Construction Services invoices, from receipt to payment distribution
  • .Responsible for financial closeouts as needed.
  • Oversee Operational closeouts for timely submissions.
  • Responsible for budget transfer form submissions to the district.
  • Assists with all types of audits, both internal and external, and Open Records Requests as needed.
  • Assists with Financial Reporting as needed.
  • Communicate and provide quality customer service to staff, vendors, contractors, Owners, and patrons.
  • Timely respond to inquiries regarding Construction Services accounts payable issues.
  • Maintains and adheres to ethical business practices.
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
