Join us in the role of Junior Software Engineer, in our ACI Worldwide office, in Timisoara.

In this role you will join PRM product which is a Fraud Detection engine, based on neural networks and database rules. It is used by banks and financial institutions to identify financial transactions sent by fraudsters instead of legitimate cardholders, based on configurable rules and spending patterns. It is designed for maximum performance and availability, being able to process thousands of online transactions per second.

Job Summary:

Play a key role in supporting and enhancing PRM product. Working within a Kanban-style agile environment, you will be responsible for resolving bugs, implementing minor enhancements, and ensuring the stability and performance of our product.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Investigate, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
  • Implement small-scale enhancements and configuration changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Implementation services, H24, and Product Management.
  • Document technical solutions and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.
  • Work within a Kanban framework, managing tasks through continuous flow and prioritization.
  • Engage with clients to understand their technical challenges, provide solutions, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a technical liaison between internal teams and customers, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Understand and adhere to all corporate policies including but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the job:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent software development experience.
  • Java and/or Angular
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals and debugging techniques.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative team environment.
  • Database (Oracle, MS SQL) and customer-facing experience are a plus.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and geographically distributed team.

Work Environment:


  • Standard Work Environment
  • Majority time spent on PC (Phys. Req.)
  • Travel required, may be domestic or international
