About This Role

Just Eat Takeaway.com is looking to hire a Backend Software Engineer for our Manage Purchase team who are responsible for the basket and checkout capabilities of our platform. In this role, you’ll be a key player in a critical part of the order journey.

You'll design, develop and operate scalable, high-quality software solutions that enhance the customer experience on a global scale. Your work will help guide customers throughout the purchase experience to ensure they are completing their order with confidence.

Location: Hybrid- 3 days a week from the Bristol office 2 days working from home

Reporting to: Technology Manager

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Track the progress that you are making towards the wider goals of your team, and transparently communicate that progress to your team and Technology Manager
• Keep to the processes, standards and designs that your team has agreed on
• Implement new features, ensuring established code quality standards but also actively improve code quality in the wider team by pairing, contributing to peer reviews knowledge sharing
• Take responsibility for supporting your changes all the way through to proving that they work well – and continue to work well – in production
  
  

What will you bring to the table?

• Experience in .NET C#
• Solid understanding of HTTP and RESTful design
• Knowledgeable in both SQL and NoSQL database systems
• Solid foundation in software engineering principles and best practices, including data structures, cloud first design patterns, microservices, event-driven architectures, object-oriented design, and code optimisation.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate to solve complex problems with a willingness to learn and grow professionally in a team environment, and contribute to company’s vision and developing its products
