About the role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Junior Java Developer to join our client in the financial sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at an early stage of their software development career to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment within a major financial institution. You will be part of a team that designs, develops, and maintains scalable, high-performance applications used in critical business operations.
As an FDM consultant, you will work across the full software development lifecycle – from translating user requirements into technical specifications, to writing clean, efficient Java code, and supporting application testing and deployment. Collaborating with experienced developers, product managers, and DevOps teams, you'll gain exposure to real-world challenges and modern development practices including Agile, CI/CD, and cloud technologies.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about coding, keen to deepen their knowledge of Java, and motivated to build a career in enterprise software development. This role is ideal for those with academic or commercial Java experience who want to apply their skills in a professional setting, receive structured training, and contribute to impactful, global-scale projects.
