Junior Java Developer | Glasgow

In partnership with one of the world's leading investment banks, Synechron is looking for an accomplished Junior (2-3 yrs) Java Developer to work as part of the counterparty risk team with a specific focus on high volume option within the Prime Brokerage team.

The Java Developer will be dealing with lots of data and high performance / low latency risk calculations (across all asset classes) but won't need any prior experience in this area.

The Java Developer will be required to possess the following skills / experience:

• Strong but Junior Java Developer (approx. 2-3 years experience)
• Strong fundamentals important, e.g. OOD, SOLID, etc.
• Keen, fast and pro-active learner (will be taught a lot of the domain/enterprise work)
• Someone who is willing to dig into problems but also know when to ask for help
• MUST be a competent coder (wont necessarily need finance / enterprise experience)
• Kafka, NoSQL, Angular, React, etc are all nice to haves but by no means essential

You will work primarily on a hybrid basis, 3 days in the client's offices in Glasgow with the other two being remote.
