Summary

DEME Group is seeking a motivated and skilled Engineer to join our Facility Department at our headquarters in Zwijndrecht. You will support our Senior Project Manager in reinforcing the team on various construction projects, with a strong emphasis on sustainable and energy-neutral practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive engineer to contribute to the development and maintenance of our state-of-the-art facilities and help achieve our goal of creating climate-neutral headquarters by 2025.


Your responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Identify and resolve engineering issues and challenges.
  • Contribute to the transformation of the DEME Campus into a modern, sustainable, and energy-neutral head office.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of heat pumps, fully electrified heating systems, and solar panels together with our Facility technician.
  • Focus on sustainable design and insulation to reduce heating and cooling demands.
  • Assist in phasing out diesel consumption by demolishing older buildings, extending cold-heat networks, and equipping warehouses with heat pumps and radiant panels.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, schedules, and budgets.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Coordinate with the facility team to ensure efficient and effective operation of building systems.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Promote and enforce health and safety policies and procedures on all projects.


Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 à 3 years of experience in construction project management or facility management is a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and AutoCAD.
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
