About The Client (US)

With a history spanning over 40 years in construction management, the client is known for its dependability. Focusing on objective cost estimating and project management, services are provided to architects, engineering firms, contractors, and owners in Florida and across the country.

Job Summary:

The Junior Estimator will support the preparation of accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, primarily focused on governmental facilities such as schools, public safety complexes, and other infrastructure developments. Working under the guidance of senior estimators, the role involves analyzing project plans, performing quantity take-offs, gathering cost data, and assisting in the development of Opinions of Probable Cost (OPC). This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in reviewing construction plans, specifications, and project documents to understand scope, materials, and requirements.
  • Prepare plans for initial review, validation and prepare RFI`s. Plans to be collated in a collaborative environment and supported internally.
  • Support the preparation of detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and indirect costs, using tools like CSI Masterformat.
  • Collect and analyze cost data from vendors, subcontractors, and historical project records to ensure accuracy.
  • Contribute to the development of Opinions of Probable Cost (OPC) by performing quantity takeoffs and applying unit costs.
  • Participate in market research to stay updated on material pricing, labor rates, and regional construction trends.
  • Assist in identifying potential cost-saving opportunities through value engineering under senior estimator guidance.
  • Help prepare clear and organized estimate reports, including assumptions and contingencies, for client presentations.
  • Collaborate with project teams and attend meetings to clarify scope and address estimating queries.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all estimating activities in compliance with company standards.
  • Support change order evaluations and other estimating tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience in construction cost estimating or a related role; internships or coursework in estimating preferred.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes commonly practiced in the USA.
  • Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Take-off preferred, Bluebeam, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow under the mentorship of experienced estimators.
  • Knowledge of CSI Masterformat is a must.

Preferred Certifications:

  • ASPE Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or willingness to pursue certification encouraged.

Work Schedule (Night shift)

  • Monday to Friday (8PM-5AM; Manila Time - Flexible after training)

Work Setup (WFH)

  • Permanent Homebased
  • Equipment will be provided by Outsourced
