The Role

We’re now on the lookout for an organised, motivated, and career-driven Junior Category Manager to join our Merchandise team. In this exciting development role, you’ll work closely with our National Category Managers and experienced leaders to help shape the success of our category strategies, supplier relationships, and product performance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to step into a national category management pathway, working across exclusive brands, local supplier partnerships, and the Total Tools merchandise offer for stores.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the execution of category strategies across a designated product portfolio.
  • Assist in managing and developing supplier relationships under guidance of the Category Manager.
  • Coordinate product range reviews, identify new product opportunities and support brand initiatives.
  • Manage new product submissions and ensure central product file accuracy.
  • Review and analyse competitor pricing to help drive market competitiveness.
  • Contribute to promotional planning, sales campaigns and merchandising execution.
  • Maintain pricing and data accuracy for all promotional and sales offers.
  • Provide ongoing support to stores with communications, feedback, and category plans.
  • Act on store and customer feedback to improve supplier service and product performance.
  • Support eCommerce growth by identifying relevant product opportunities.
  • Coordinate training with suppliers to support product knowledge across the group.
  • Ensure compliance with all Australian standards, safety regulations, and brand policies.
  • Uphold OH&S practices and contribute to a safe, clean, and positive workplace culture.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Experience in retail, merchandising, or product/category support roles.
  • Strong coordination and time management skills – you’re reliable and organised.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication – a confident team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience using Pronto and COGNOS systems (desirable).
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a drive for accuracy.
  • A proactive, adaptable attitude and genuine interest in the tools or retail industry.
