Summary

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr. System Administrator to join our growing IT team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others. You’ll play a key role in supporting our staff, maintaining systems, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Install, configure, and update hardware and software as needed
  • Manage user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Monitor and maintain IT inventory and asset documentation
  • Assist with data backups, cybersecurity practices, and routine audits
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff to roll out new technologies and updates
  • Respond to help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide technical training and create documentation for end users
  • Support server and network infrastructure, including configuration, maintenance, and monitoring
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including system restores and access issues
  • Ensure operating systems and applications are patched and up to date
  • Implement and manage data backup solutions and perform recovery operations
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including network diagrams and troubleshooting guides
  • Support basic security measures such as system scans, access controls, and vulnerability assessments
  • Collaborate with senior administrators to ensure smooth IT operations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent work experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role (internships and academic projects are a plus)
  • Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and basic networking concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
