Job Description:

We are looking for a Junior Power Trader with a keen interest in European energy markets and a solid understanding of cross-commodity markets. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, learn from experienced traders, and contribute to trading strategies in one of the fastest-growing trading houses in Europe.



Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies for major European power & gas markets from DA to Y+1, taking into account cross-commodity relations and market volatility.
  • Develop fundamental models and understanding for corresponding markets; provide market insights and forecasts to support decision-making.
  • Maintain strong relationships with market participants and stakeholders, and stay abreast of regulatory changes and market developments affecting different energy commodities.
  • Provide support and help to Quant Team to enhance research tools for the respective markets.
  • Help automation processes and make a contribution to algorithmic trading.
  • Collaborate with the risk management team to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and to manage portfolio risks.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Physics, or a related quantitative field
  • 1+ year of experience in energy trading and a strong academic background in energy markets.
  • Strong interest in European power markets and a desire to develop a career in commodity trading.
  • Familiarity with power and gas markets and a basic understanding of market volatility.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages are a plus.
  • An MSc degree is a plus.
