Jr. IT Technician / Computer Repair - Part Time to Full Time Valencia MSP / IT Consulting / Computer Repair company is looking for a qualified Jr. Computer Technician to help install, maintain and repair computers, networks, and IT systems. As a Jr. computer technician, you must be well-versed in both PC & Mac computer systems and network functions. The ideal candidate will be able to work diligently and accurately and will possess a great problem-solving ability in order to fix issues and ensure functionality. Job Duties Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, software and peripheral component issues (including but not limited to virus/malware removal and data recovery) Set up computer systems and hardware, and install or re-install software programs. Provide on-site and remote technical support for clients Follow up with customers and schedule appointments Monitor client system failure notifications and notify the party accordingly Install and troubleshoot LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, routers, IPs etc.) Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly Other related tasks as required. JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS Proven experience as computer technician or similar role Experience with PC and Mac setup/configuration and troubleshooting (Must be able to diagnose, repair and test computer problems as they arise) Experience with LAN/WAN networks Knowledge of computer systems and IT components, internet security and data privacy principles Ability to solve issues that might not have a clear solution. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and utilize all available resources to solve issues. Very good communication abilities. Ability to ask questions and listen to customers in order to find out the issue, explain the problem in a clear and understandable way, and give them options for repair or replacement. Exceptional organizing, time-management, and multitasking skills Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+) will be an advantage Valid CA Driver’s License and reliable transportation a must. Education Minimum of 1-2 years of IT work experience. A+, Network + and/or Security + certifications will be an advantage. Previous Experience Previous experience working in IT as a computer repair and maintenance technician in any capacity is preferred. Previous experience working at an MSP or similar company.
