# USOD-JMIT0624 Position and Location: We are currently seeking Journeymen Instrumentation Technicians in the Odessa, TX area. Duties/Responsibilities: Installs, repairs, and commissions of instruments including level, flow, temperature, vibrations, and pressure. Installs, repairs, and commissions valve controllers and positioners. Bend and install tubing. Cut, thread, and install piping. Troubleshoot and repair problems in a plant and field setting. Performs other related duties as assigned. Show up on time prepared for work. Fill out and/or assist with job site hazard assessments. Ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion. Train and assign helpers on daily work tasks. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to read blueprints. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Computer knowledge for use of on-line work orders and time sheets. Hold a valid driver’s license. Ability to understand and communicate in a proper manner on email, text, or phone. Relay information and questions through the proper hierarchy chain. Ability to adapt to last minute changes and redirect course of project completion accordingly. Ability to work independently, or as part of a team. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Ongoing education, completion of a formal apprenticeship, or valid journeyman electrician’s license. Physical Requirements: Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring. Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding. Must be physically capable of all mentioned duties. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Work minimum 8 hours a day. Work in all weather conditions. Compensation: Negotiable depending on experience. Paid travel time. Overtime effective after 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week.
