Overview

As a Job Developer you'll establish and maintain activities to develop and locate internship and competitive employment opportunities in integrated work settings for program participants. Collaborate with employers to create inclusive environments and assist participants in preparing for and securing meaningful employment.

What You Will Do

  • Assess participant readiness for employment by evaluating skills and interests, using discovery activities and assessments.
  • Develop strong community connections by establishing relationships with employers, public agencies, and organizations to create job opportunities.
  • Generate job leads through outreach, responding to job ads, and actively seeking roles suited to participants’ goals.
  • Support and coach participants on the job by maintaining contact with employers, providing ongoing support, and troubleshooting any challenges.
  • Serve as advocate and liaison between potential employers, program participants and other support available.
  • Track and report on participant progress, job outcomes, and employer feedback.
  • Advise and assist participants with job search techniques including interviews strategies, resume writing, completion of job applications and networking

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Driver’s License: A valid and clean New York State driver’s license is required.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with IDD
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Great computer skills. Familiarity with Microsoft office is a plus
  • Self-starter, flexible and adaptable

Work Location: Nassau and Suffolk County

Work Hours/Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, with flexible scheduling options

Additional Information: Use of personal vehicle required; mileage reimbursement provided.

Pay: $23.00/hr.

Paid Time Off

  • Up to 80 hours of vacation during the first calendar year of employment. Employees accrue an additional 8 vacation hours each subsequent calendar year, up to a maximum of 120 hours.
  • Up to 48 hours of personal time per calendar year.
  • 9 paid holidays.
