Job Summary:
The Java Developer will support the operation and maintenance of enterprise-level Air Force aircraft communications, equipment maintenance, and training simulation systems. The applicant will use industry standard development and programming practices to design, modify, and develop code, primarily in Java, to support these systems.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizes C#, Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic, PL/SQL, and PowerShell to deliver technical systems support
- Develop solutions using ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, Bootstrap CSS, and Oracle DB
- Applies AWS Lambda and Entity Framework where applicable
- Designs and develops solutions based on input from end users and business analysts
- Creates intuitive and elegant user interfaces to interact with complex hardware and user input
- Implements business logic to process and manage data from both hardware and software components
- Prepares detailed specifications, technical documentation, and participates in system documentation efforts
- Participates in technical interchange meetings, Agile ceremonies, design sessions, code reviews, unit testing, and debugging
- Uses industry-standard software development practices to ensure requirements are met and solutions are maintainable
- Executes quality controls to meet and uphold established software development standards
- Collaborates with QA and other stakeholders to validate requirements and foster a team-based environment
- Shares best practices and helps build a positive, collaborative team culture
Required Experience & Abilities:
- 5+ years of experience in .NET development and delivering production-level applications
- Proficiency at the intermediate level in C#, Visual Basic, JavaScript, Bootstrap CSS
- Experience with Oracle DB, SQL, and ASP.NET stack including MVC and Web API
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning capabilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desired Experience & Abilities:
- Experience with AWS Lambda and Entity Framework
- Experience with Struts 2 and large-scale operational environments
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and customer-centric project execution
- Demonstrated adaptability and proactive problem-solving mindset
Job Stipulations:
- Must maintain DOD 8570 required certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Minimum Education:
HS diploma with 9 years’ IT experience
Associates with 7 years’ IT experience
Bachelors with 5 years’ IT experience
Job Stipulations:
Must maintain DOD 8570 required certification, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
Must be compliant with DOD vaccination policies
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
