FLUENCY in DUTCH is a MUST: Tech Lead Java – up to EUR 105k – Rotterdam / Hybrid

As a Tech Lead, you know how to coach and inspire a team (15% of your time) that will continuously search improvement, guiding all team members in their journey to learn and grow together. Together with engineering management, you are responsible for setting the vision (15% of your time) on topics like DDD, Test Automation, Apache Pulsar, CQRS & Event Sourcing. Plus you actively contribute to development – 70% of your time is spent delivering code to working solutions.

My client: Portbase is the driving organization between all communication & innovation in the big Dutch ports. The company is aiming to make them the smartest ports of Europe and are investing heavily in development of technology. A recent independent research indicated that they add €260 million of value to the Dutch logistical network / economy. Over 4000 stakeholders are dependent on the solutions that they built.

The solutions and infrastructure platform are state of the art, the complete set-up is within AWS and containerized with Docker. There is still lots of interesting stuff to do though: at the moment they are working on a project to fully embrace all what Apache Pulsar has to offer. Java, Event Sourcing, CQRS, Apache Pulsar and AWS are key technologies for them.

Scrum is not your goal, but the Agile way of working is how you think and operate. They heavily focus on optimizing the process of decision making (end to end responsibility), working method on features, sharing knowledge, dedicated time to personally develop and so on. Great recent success story is a project in which they made the Dutch ports ready for Brexit.

About you:

• You are a hands-on leader that loves to be part of creating successes together with your team

• You are a senior in the software development field with 5+ years of relevant experience, in a JVM language

• You have senior experience in collaborating with people. Your understanding how everyone is different helps you to be a more successful Tech Lead and person

• You have production grade experience integrating systems, and understand how and when to use message queues, integration brokers, CQRS principles, Apache Pulsar, and so on

• You easily share knowledge and help others

Location: center of Rotterdam.

Salary: max EUR 105k + strong package.
