As a Java Tech Lead, you will work in the Cards domain, leading and mentoring a team of Java Developers, driving technical excellence, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable Java applications. You will collaborate closely with business and IT units to define requirements, modernize applications, and build cloud-native solutions.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and mentor a team of Java developers, ensuring they follow best practices and coding standards
- Developing high-quality and detailed technical designs for Java applications, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable
- Define and participate in the implementation of the Cards API layer
- Working with business and other stakeholders to define the technical requirements for Cards applications
- Contributing to the code base
- Conducting code reviews and facilitate standardization of best development practices
- Facilitate legacy application modernization and migration to cloud-native solutions
- Planning and providing high-level solution effort estimation
- Ensuring effective communication with business units, IT Operations, and external vendors
- Ensuring the creation of solution design and technical documentation
- Identifying and escalating risks associated with solution architecture, IT decisions, and any other possible technical risks
- Ensuring effective IT development processes by having a good overview of IT development processes and tools
What We Expect:
- Proven track record of developing and deploying Java applications
- Professional proficiency with Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot
- Experience building cloud-native applications (AWS preferred, but Azure is also acceptable)
- Familiarity with architecture patterns
- Professional knowledge of different software development methodologies
- Strong knowledge of microservice architecture
- Expertise working with CI/CD, Git, Docker/Virtualization
- Fluent in English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level
Nice to have:
- Experience migrating on-premises applications to cloud applications
- Experience working in the banking domain
- Experience working with card payment systems
- Experience leading a software development team
