Java Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Our client is a tier 1 Consultancy firm specialising in strategic development, digital transformation, and product innovation. The company combines innovative thinking and breakthrough technologies to achieve enduring results for their clients and is looking to add an experienced Java Engineer to their talented and growing team

What You'll Do As a Java Engineer

• Design and implement robust and scalable Java solutions including functional interfaces, streams, and collections
• Optimise performance through parallel runs and resource sharing, demonstrating a deep understanding of multi-threading concepts
• Utilise MVC frameworks to design and develop web applications
• Design RESTful APIs using JAX-RS adhering to best practices
• Use Cucumber and Gherkin to develop and execute automated integration tests
• Specific and document exposed APIs using OpenAI Swagger
• Utilise code quality checks using Sonar Qube and ensure security through Redhat SSO
• Utilise a range of libraries and frameworks, including Feign, Mustache, Spring, Guice, Swagger, and Spring Boot
  
  

What makes a great Java Engineer:

• Minimum 2 years Java software development including leadership responsibilities
• Proficiency using the specified technologies and tools
• Experience designing, implementing, and delivering complex software solutions
• Comprehensive testing ability utilising Cucumber, JUnit, Selenium, and Postman
• Experience working with various data storage solutions, including ElasticSearch, RDS, Aurora, Postgres, ElasticCache, OpenSearch, and Debezium
  
  

Desirable Experience:

• Ability to implement monitoring and logging solutions using the ELK stack
• Proficiency manage the CI/CD pipeline using BitBucket, Maven, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible/Packer, and Kustomize
• Comprehensive problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills
