Java DevOps Engineer (Only W2, No C2C/CTH/1099)

Contract Duration: 9-12 Months

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of DevOps experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 3+ years of experience with Jenkins, GitHub, Gradle, Artifactory, SonarQube, and CheckMarx
• 3+ years of experience with deployment tools like uDeploy and Harness
• Experience managing applications in a cloud environment (Azure, Google, Amazon Web Services)
• 2+ years of experience with container technologies like OpenShift Container Platform
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in developing integrated and secure enterprise or web-based applications using Java/J2EE
• 2+ years of experience with Spring Framework
• Experience in Micro Frontend and Microservices
• Experience working with REST Services
• Experience with API development and knowledge of common design patterns
• Experience with unit testing of Java backend code

Desired Skills & Experience

• Hands on experience doing analysis, coding, and debugging Java frameworks like Spring, Hibernate etc.
• Knowledge of or experience with Kafka
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience with “test” centric development methodologies including Test Driven Development (TDD) & Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (ex. MongoDB) is a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• 60-70% DevOps - Lot of work with pipelines and on prem containers.
• 30-40% Java Development

Daily Responsibilities

The client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Wholesale Operations Technology (WOT) team. In this role as a Senior Software engineer, your main responsibility will be to perform DevOps and Release Management duties in support of the Global Servicing Solution application.

Secondary duties will include non-functional requirements, development work and partnering with Platform Support in the health monitoring of the application. This application is utilized by the software to perform maintenance requests on Commercial Loan requests. They are looking for candidates familiar with the DevOps toolchain and Change Management process with a background in Java development. The expectation is that this candidate can work independently while also partnering with other developers and Platform Support team members.
