SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER – WAREHOUSE AUTOMATION SYSTEMS
Work location: Modena area
The selected resource - acting as part of a team aimed at supporting a Software Dept. within a complex, structured environment with high pitched technological standards - will be directly engaged in the engineering project activities, with increasing levels of autonomy and responsibility.
We are seeking experienced SW Development Engineers specialized in Warehouse Automation systems, with strong background in software development primarily using Java/JEE, Spring boot, frontend and backend solutions, OODesign, JAVA architectures, and SQL Server database programming knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development: Engagein application development using Java/J2EE, Spring boot encompassing both frontend and backend solutions. Design/development of multiple functions ensuring adherence to established architecture, design patterns, policies, standards and best practices. Implement solutions focusing on reuse and industry standards at a program, enterprise, or operational scope.
System Design: Generate detailed system designs, participate in code reviews. Expected to be a self-starter who can implement very complex systems with no supervision.
Core Tasks
· Perform software development work on applications
· Participate in requirements gathering, estimating, and system analysis
· Understand system architecture and high level designs and generate low level designs
· Provide required support to post-development phases of projects, such as acceptance testing, integration, and system commissioning
· Participate in production support efforts
· Liaise with members of other teams both internal and external
Application Requirements What you need to succeed
· Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent Engineering degree.
· Substantial experience in development of Warehouse Management Systems
· 3+ yrs of experience in Java application development
· Experience in design and integration of applications across multiple enterprise and third-party software systems
· Should be proficient in Core Java, J2EE, Spring boot, OODesign and Java architectures
· Experience in developing applications using Spring Boot, JPA, Messaging
· Experience in REST API design using Open API/ Swagger.
· Handson experience in developing microservices.
· Handson experience in containerization tools like Docker.
· Experience in writing unit tests and integration tests.
· Experience in DevOps tools – like git, maven, ssh
· Experience in basic Unix shell commands – like vi, find, grep, ps, top etc)
· Experience in any RDBMS (SQL Server/ MySQL/ Postgres/ Oracle)
· Experience in Agile development practices
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work well across teams.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Ability to work with all levels of management
· Good to have
o Experience in any cloud platform (Azure, AWS or Google)
