Our client in New York City is seeking a Java software engineer with strong Investment banking and Equities experience.

Job Description:

• This is an Individual Contributor position. The roles and responsibilities are as follows: Develop and maintain large, complex Equity Finance Front Office Applications.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment with weekly sprints
• Deliver high-quality code within the committed deadlines, adhering to firm standards
• Work with the global team across the US, EMEA, and APAC
• Experienced and willing to own the SDLC stages of development and support end-to-end
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills
• Willing to learn new technologies/tools as required, to effectively deliver output

Key Skills:

Mandatory Skills:

• Excellent core Java and Spring Framework design and development skills (3+ years)
• Good Database development skills with proficiency in writing queries and stored procedures (2+ years)
• Understanding of message-based architecture (2+ years)
• Understanding of microservice architecture
• Linux/Unix shell (2 years +)
• Python (1 year +)

Desirable Skills:

• Industry exposure to Investment banking, preferably in equities
• Experience in any Continuous Integration and Build environment
• Good understanding/working experience of container deployment
