An opportunity to join our client, a prominent investment bank in Budapest as a Java Developer.

The Team is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining technology systems and processes that support securities lending activities. Securities lending involves investors temporarily loaning their securities, such as stocks, to borrowers in exchange for a fee. The technology team plays a pivotal role in managing workflows, risk management, and operations within the securities lending program. Agile team of approximately 30 developers based in Budapest, London, and New York, collaborates on major strategic initiatives for the firm, including software hygiene projects, working in biweekly iterations.

Your Role:

• Develop resilient, highly scalable systems tailored to today’s demanding financial environment.
• Deploy solutions while partnering with our users, including Securities Lending traders, strategists, and regulatory teams.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Java, with a focus on server-side development
• Solid understanding of Garbage Collection
• Desirable knowledge of multi-threaded Java programming
• Commitment to testing and documentation for delivering high-quality solutions
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux systems
• Experience with relational databases (SQL)

Desirable Skills:

• Python programming
• Strong communication skills and a proven ability to deliver high-quality software as part of a team
