The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide. Role Purpose To design, code, implement, support and maintain Blacksburg's Information Technology applications, both as an individual performer and as a member of a project team. Support the daily operations of the business. Provide analysis, design and coding support for business enhancements to the system. Maintain adherence to Corning's Information Systems standards and procedures. Key Responsibilities * Lead small to medium size projects. * Maintains existing client server and web based applications. * Recommends and develops information system projects that improve manufacturing efficiencies and product quality. * Assume leadership for own portion of large projects * Use standard methodologies to carry out projects and tasks * Develop application interfaces that are tailored to the user needs and are integrated with new and existing systems. * Develop accurate, efficient, and user friendly computer programs * Provide problem solving assistance in one or more applications or technical areas *
