The Specialist may be a subject matter expert in some technology domains; and is expected to have full professional knowledge of ethernet network infrastructure concepts and company objectives to resolve a wide range of Information Technology issues in effective and creative ways.
The IT Systems Integration Specialist participates in the planning, coordination, and solution development and implementation of projects that deliver real time controls solutions to industrial automation systems. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, proficiency in computer systems networks, and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role. The Specialist must develop and maintain expertise with emerging, current, and evolving technologies, products, and practices.

Job Responsibilities:
Design and implement IT infrastructure for Brock Solutions’ clients with a focus on network architecture, redundancy, and failover mechanisms. Including server architecture and computing specifications (Dell, HP, VMware, Cisco, Palo Alto)
Work with clients to design, develop, and deploy integration solutions within the customers’ environment leveraging industry principles, policies, and best practices
Provide integration environment technical knowledge and experience during the planning, execution, and management with internal and external project stakeholders across multiple concurrent projects
Participate in the full project lifecycle, and work with project managers to deliver project deliverables from design to implementation and execution
Guide project teams with problem determination and resolution efforts when operational issues with IT solutions arise during integration
Source and procure project equipment in partnership with other internal teams
Qualifications Required:
University degree/college diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Proven experience in either of the following skill areas:
3+ years of experience designing and implementing critical network architectures with Cisco Switches, and Cisco or Palo Alto Firewalls
4+ Years of experience designing and implementing on premise highly available solutions using a hypervisor
Ability to travel as required mostly within Canada and the United States (approximately 20%)
Communicate ideas both technically and in user-friendly language clearly and efficiently, both verbally and in writing, in English
Work independently to contribute to a multidisciplinary project team Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
Manage and prioritize multiple deliverables in a critical systems environment
Investigate technical challenges and problem solve complex technical systems
Produce detailed technical documentation and drawings
Learn and use new tools and technology
Successful candidate would have strong skills in a few of the following:
Experience implementing network security best practices
Experience designing and implementing unmanaged switches, firewalls, managed layer 2 and layer 3 switches
Experience implementing hypervisors
Experience leveraging Managed IT Services, patching best practices, change control and management
Experience implementing backup and recovery tools and imaging processes
Experience configuring Active Directory and Windows Servers
Knowledge of operational technology such as PLCs and industrial controls, and OPC networks
Knowledge of HMI and SCADA platforms, such as Ignition and FactoryTalk
Knowledge of Airport operations, Airline IT systems, Baggage Handling Systems
Industry recognized certifications such as MCSE, MCP, MCSA, A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA CCNP, CCIE, VCP, ITIL
