Position Summary

Switch Energy Alliance is excited to announce a new opportunity on our growing team!

We're looking for an IT & Systems Integration Specialist who is passionate about technology, data, and innovation in education. This six-month contract-to-hire position, based in Austin, TX, is responsible for managing and optimizing our digital platforms (WordPress, HubSpot, Thinkific, Google Workspace) and building cross-platform dashboards and integrations to drive our programs forward. In addition to the core responsibilities listed below, this role will include a small portion (less than 10%) of Tier 1 IT Helpdesk support to assist with internal tech troubleshooting.

  • Manage and optimize SaaS platforms
  • Build live dashboards and integrate systems
  • Provide light internal tech support (Tier 1)
  • Support SEA’s mission through data and systems leadership


Work Environment & Schedule

  • Location: On-site in Austin, Texas (Hybrid flexibility available)
  • Schedule: Full-time contractor
  • Contractor Duration: Initial 6-month contract with potential to convert to full-time based on performance and organizational needs.
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal
  • Physical Demands: General office functions including sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods during office or event activities, using a computer, keyboard, telephone, etc. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable employee to perform the essential job duties.


Key Responsibilities

1.           Systems Administration and Optimization

  • Administer and maintain core SAAS platforms (Google Workspace, SharePoint, MS365).
  • Ensure performance, reliability, and security through proactive updates and monitoring.
  • Provide Tier 1 technical support to staff (e.g. password resets, access issues) and coordinate with external IT partners as needed.

2.           Business Analytics & KPE Dashboard Development

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards using data from HubSpot, Thinkific, WordPress, and marketing platforms.
  • Integrate data into tools such as Google Looker Studio or Power BI for clear reporting.
  • Translate business needs into actionable visual analytics.

3.           Systems Integration and Interoperability

  • Lead integration across platforms via APIs and third-party tools (HubSpot, Thinkific, WordPress, and others).
  • Ensure clean data flow and system compatibility.
  • Support Salesforce integration when applicable.

4.           Platform Support (CMS, LMS, CRM)

  • Manage and maintain WordPress CMS infrastructure.
  • Support LMS functionality and course deployment in Thinkific.
  • Maintain HubSpot CRM pipelines and data integrity.

5.           Dashboarding & Reporting System Development

  • Build and maintain centralized dashboards with live data feeds from multiple platforms.
  • Ensure dashboard compatibility with Google Drive, SharePoint, and cloud storage.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications team to integrate campaign analytics.

6.           Stakeholder Training and Support

  • Gather business needs and translate into technical systems design.
  • Provide training and documentation to staff and program leads.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to maintain content accuracy and relevance in the evolving energy industry.
  • Monitor effectiveness of tools and make recommendations for improvement.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3- 5 years of experience managing IT systems administration and integration, or analytics with a focus on SaaS platforms and SharePoint.
  • Certifications (preferred): Google Workspace Admin, Looker Studio, MuleSoft, HubSpot Academy, WordPress.
  • Proficiency in WordPress, Thinkific (or similar LMS), HubSpot, and tools like Power BI.
  • Experience with API’s and systems interoperability.
  • Background in nonprofit or education tech preferred.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Eligibility Requirement:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.


Compensation:

Compensation is for a six-month contract period, with the opportunity to convert to full-time upon successful completion based on experience, qualifications, and alignment with Switch Energy Alliance’s budget and organizational needs.

- Mid-Level IT Specialist: $80,000–$100,000 annually or $54–$61/hour (contract-to-hire).

- Senior IT Specialist or IT Manager: $100,000–$130,000 annually or $63–$75/hour (contract-to-hire).

Final rate will be determined based on experience, skills match, qualifications and interview evaluation. Upon successful completion of the contract period, the role may be converted to a full-time salaried employee position. At that time, the total compensation package would include eligibility for SEA’s standard employee benefits (health insurance, 401(k) match, paid time off, holidays) and salary reevaluation based on performance and organizational needs.
