Position Primary Purpose:
Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, Office of Information Technology, is seeking applicants for a full-time IT Systems Analyst. The IT Systems Analyst will be responsible for providing day-to-day support to end-users of systems and peripherals at the VCU School of Dentistry and VCU Dental Care's diverse customer base. The ideal candidate should possess strong customer service skills; be able to problem-solve in fast-paced environments; collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to teammates, outside vendors, faculty, staff and leadership to achieve shared goals; identify and implement emerging technologies to enhance established processes within IT and/or clinical environments; have a desire to learn and grow in the healthcare information technology field; and be comfortable working in a live clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
This position will provide:
* General computer hardware and software support and troubleshooting for Windows and Apple devices
* Assistance with system enterprise management and administration using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration
* Manager (MECM), Microsoft Intune, Microsoft EntraID, Microsoft Active Directory, Quest KACE, and Jamf Pro
* Support for clinical hardware and software, occasionally working with vendors to resolve complex software and hardware-related integration issues within multiple application ecosystems
* Document standard operating procedures in Google Drive and Confluence
Once trained, the position will provide primary support for clinical dental imaging and work closely with our Support Services and Infrastructure teams to support clinical endpoints and peripherals.
Working hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional work required outside of normal business hours for endpoint upgrades, system updates, and maintenance.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
* Advanced knowledge and skills in supporting and troubleshooting Windows and Mac endpoints and peripherals
* Experience with endpoint management and encryption for Windows and Apple
* Knowledge of OSD (operating system deployment) best practices for Windows 10 and 11, and support
* Knowledge of Active Directory, BitLocker, and FileVault
* Experience creating documentation for standard operating procedures in Google Drive and Confluence
* Basic project management experience
* Experience working in customer service
* Experience with business process modeling
* Familiarity with enterprise asset management best practices
* Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience using a work order ticketing system
* Working knowledge of endpoint security
* Experience working with Jamf Pro
* Knowledge of VDI infrastructure, including Citrix
* Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
* Knowledge of dental equipment, including intraoral sensors, CBCT, PANOs, and intraoral cameras
