This Columbus OH-based position will help provide on-site support services to employees located in Columbus OH, Louisville KY, and Indianapolis IN with travel requirements up to roughly 25% of the year (roughly one week per month). We are seeking an experienced self-starter who can succeed in a fast-paced environment with remote supervision. All Ideal Candidates Will Possess

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field of study, IT Certifications or recent 5 years’ experience in an IT-related role demonstrating appropriate skills and capabilities.
  • Excellent inter-personal, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to quickly research and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment with technicians in multiple offices.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting end-users with technology issues and assisting with other technology-based solutions including conference rooms, digital signage, computer networking and storage, and cybersecurity efforts.
  • Experience with a variety of computer hardware, software, and peripherals including laptop computers, mobile devices, print solutions, and conference room technologies.
  • Experience supporting common and uncommon business software applications and tools.
    • Experience with CAD or Engineering software applications are a plus.
  • Experience using Help Desk Ticket systems to create, manage, update, and close tickets.
  • Basic knowledge of TCPIP and fundamental networking concepts including VLANs, Wi-Fi, and basic Cybersecurity concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with remote supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Respond to and diagnose problems through discussion with end-users providing timely resolution to end-user problems, complaints, and inquiries.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve hardware and software issues.
    • Deliver basic end-user training/guidance as necessary.
    • Collaborate with other IT service desk technicians, following escalation procedures as necessary.
  • Perform new-hire IT orientation for successful onboarding of new employees in regional offices.
  • Work closely with others on the Service Desk Team providing guidance as needed to continuously improve performance of the team and improve end-user satisfaction.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to lesser experienced service desk technicians as needed.
  • Receive, enter, and update help desk incidents and requests using an IT ticket system.
    • Create knowledgebase articles to document solutions and how-to procedures.
  • Install, configure, and support common computer hardware, software, and peripherals; including mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets.
  • Assist network and security administrators with onsite tasks on request.
Position Details

  • Location: GPD Office, Columbus, Ohio
  • Full-Time (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday with limited on-call duties during evenings and weekends
  • Travel requirement is roughly 25% within a 250-mile radius of Columbus OH and occasional team meetings and training activities in the Akron OH headquarters as appropriate.
