Job Summary: The Help Desk Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions. Position supports multiple site locations via phone or LAN and includes a central on-site location.

Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 Per year

  • Monitor and respond quickly to incoming requests related to IT issues.
  • Maintain computer systems and act as support if any system goes down.
  • Responsible for PCs, Printers, Servers, and related equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, etc.)
  • Maintain user PCs, including upgrades and configuration as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding of new users.
  • Keep inventory of all equipment, software, and license users.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade PC software.

Skills Required

  • General awareness of computer systems, PC repair, and network management
  • Resourcefulness and quick-thinking nature to troubleshoot new and critical technical issues as they arise.
  • Ability to deploy, configure, and support operating systems on desktop and mobile.
  • Understanding and appreciation for information security within systems and user devices.
  • Strong drive to provide excellent customer service and experience, with an awareness of prioritization of tasks, stakeholders, budget, and time.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position will sometimes work in an open office setting that is quiet, fast paced, fosters continuous learning while operating under high demand/volume. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel

Some travel may be required for this position.

Education And/or Experience Desired

Bachelor’s degree from a college or university, or equivalent professional institution. Information Systems, Computer Science degree preferred OR 2 year’s experience in a similar role.
