About the role

The Solution Architecture Manager in Monument Re is responsible for leading a team of solution architects in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions that align with business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and strong leadership skills to drive architectural best practices and ensure seamless integration across enterprise systems. The successful candidate will be have two primary responsibilities. Firstly the ongoing management of the Solution Architecture team and the service its delivers. Then secondly, to act as a solution architect SME to further develop and enhance existing core infrastructure services.



Responsibilities

Managerial responsibilities:▪ Lead and mentor a team of solution architects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, including:
  • Team One to ones, goals and objective settings
  • Mid-year and end of Year reviews
  • Team development plans , training , skillset reviews.
  • Team resourcing and assignment SA’s to projects
  • Development and enhancement to the SA function , increase business engagement.
▪ Develop and implement architectural frameworks, guidelines, and best practices.▪ Partner with business leaders, IT teams, and vendors to define architectural needs.
  • Ensure architecture strategies align with business and IT roadmaps. ▪ Solution Architect SME, responsibilities: Analyse new project-level Deskside, Infrastructure and Cloud architecture needs. Recommend solutions and migration strategies compliant with future state enterprise cloud architecture
  • Identify opportunities for automation, cloud adoption, and digital transformation.
  • Provide leadership and governance in projects to develop and execute complex environmental changes, including consolidation, platform upgrades, and migration to and divestitures of Active Directory platforms;
  • Drive and lead migrations projects for On-Premise and Azure Active Directory Systems whilst maintaining Core AD Organizational Structure;
  • Consult and collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on Authentication/Authorization requirements and integration to Web and SaaS services;
  • Evaluating new Cloud technologies as required by business needs, participating in product evaluations, selection criteria, and deployment of emerging technologies;
  • Drive innovation by bringing forward thoughtful & cost-effective infrastructure solutions;



Role Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Solution Architecture role/function for a medium to large sized organization.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Management/leadership role for a medium to large sized organization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • SME with broad technical knowledge in architecting and designing infrastructure solutions involving compute, storage and networking components including integration between various different types of environments.
  • Experience in providing governance and oversight to project delivery as part of an enterprise level solution architecture function
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prioritise work efficiently and effectively;
  • This role would suit a person who is a dynamic team player, who is energetic and passionate with a positive attitude.
  • In depth knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD and related Azure Services;
  • Office 365 - Migrations from on-prem to Exchange online, Threat Protection, Data Protection, Compliance, SharePoint, OneDrive
  • VDI experience either with VMware or Citrix technologies;
  • Infrastructure Virtualization experience (VMware) would be advantageous;
