Job Summary

Vaco Technology is currently seeking an IT Security Analyst for a 6M C2H opportunity that is located in McKinney, TX 75070 (onsite 2-3 days per week). The IT Security Analyst will identify risks and implement measures to ensure data and system protection. The IT Security Analyst will monitor networks and respond to security incidents and threats.

• Perform Regular Security Audits / Tests
• Analyze System Logs / Network Traffic - Identifying Potential Security Breaches
• Investigate Security Violations - Taking Appropriate Action to Address the Issues
• Assist in Installing Security Software - Understanding IT Security Management
• Research Security Enhancements - Making Recommendations to Management
• Assist IT Security Officer with Audits / Facilitate Management Response/Remediation Efforts
• Understand / Clearly Relate to Members within the Organization - Technical Manuals / Software Specs / Methods of Network Operations/Security
• Regular Interfacing with IT Managers / SMEs | Periodic Interfacing with End-User Interactions
• Define Issues / Collect Data / Establish Facts / Draw Valid Conclusions / Detailed Documentation
• Effectively Present Technical Information - Responding to Executive / Management / Technical/Non-Technical End-Users Questions / Issues | Provide Timely Resolution
• Solving Complex Problems - Dealing with Concrete / Abstract Variables in Situations where Limited Standardization Exists

• Identify / Mitigating Network Vulnerabilities - Ability to Explain How to Avoid Vulnerabilities
• Network Security / Threat Management (understanding) - Firewalls / Proxies / SIEM / Antivirus / IDPS Concepts
• Network Penetration Testing / Techniques
• Patch Management (understanding) - Timely Review of Deployed Patches / Understanding Business Impact
• IT Security / Compliance-Related Disciplines - GRC / Incident Response/Management / Data Privacy/Protection / IAM / Penetration Testing / Vulnerability Testing, etc.
• Network Concepts / Protocols / Services - DNS / DHCP / VLAN / Routing / Switching / Firewalls, TCP/IP, etc.
