Summary

As an IT Project Manager – Security Office (CISO), you will be responsible for leading, planning, and executing cybersecurity and risk management projects that enhance the security posture of ING Belgium. You will work closely with security architects, IT teams, compliance officers, and business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of security initiatives. We are looking for someone with a broad interest in the security domain and strong project management and delivery skills.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end security-related IT projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including security, IT, and business units, to implement security controls and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee project governance, risk, and compliance to ensure adherence to internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables, while proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams and senior management, translating security requirements into actionable business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in security project management methodologies.
  • Report on project progress, key risks, and compliance requirements to senior stakeholders.



Your skills


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT project management, preferably in cybersecurity, risk, or compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, DORA).
  • Project management certification is a plus (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Scrum).
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and financial industry security standards.
  • Broad interest in the security domain and ability to manage multiple complex security projects simultaneously.
  • Strong project management and delivery skills to drive successful execution of security initiatives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic and international environment.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools, incident response, and IT governance is an advantage.
