Position Summary

Interacts with Department Heads, Senior Officers, and Vendors in determining project implementation strategies. Serves as primary contact for department heads as they purpose system enhancements or program changes to improve operational efficiencies. Manages and maintains responsibility for the projects assigned to the department.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead Business Units and project teams in developing vision and business purpose for all project endeavors.
  • Responsible for the project team in the successful planning, management, and implementation of complex projects involving a sizeable group of users.
  • Define project scope, objectives, requirements, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Gather system requirements and coordinate system evaluation and selection. Analyze, alter, and/or eliminate existing business processes during the execution of projects.
  • Assists employees in solving routine system software, hardware and procedure problems by utilizing technology to automate operations and improve efficiencies when possible.
  • Document all facets of projects including project implementation, disaster recovery, production support plans and control documents per the project methodology.
  • Manage the activities of partners and outside resources that may be working on assigned projects.
  • Maintain effective communication with all employees to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing project goals.
  • Participate in regulatory compliance including Sox 404 testing and integration.
  • Conduct project post implementation reviews. Complete project budget review to present to senior management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years IT project management experience, required.
  • Minimum of three years working with software development, IT infrastructure, or managing projects involving software developers, network and system administrators, and third-party vendors, required.
  • A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent to approximately 64 credit hours.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional Certification) or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Requires excellent project management skills, and the ability to plan, organize, schedule, and implement multiple technical projects.
  • Skilled in coordinating system enhancements and development of new software, within project controls.
  • Experience in working independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
  • Experience in excellent conceptual, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

The IT Project Manager position is a Grade 11.

  • Target Range: $44.12 ($91,774.07) to $55.15 ($114,717.59)*
  • The target range for entry in a new position is between the minimum and midpoint of the range, depending on experience and qualifications.
