About the Role:
As a Project Manager in the IT department, you will be responsible for leading and managing IT projects from initiation to completion. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting quality standards and business objectives. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to the IT team, overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure. You will also serve as a subject matter expert on IT-related matters, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of IT Systems.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
* Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, and scope. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budget estimates. Lead project execution according to the defined project plan, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
* Resource Management: Identify project resource needs and allocate resources effectively to support project execution. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to secure necessary resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
* Risk Management and Issue Resolution: Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to address potential issues and minimize project disruptions. Proactively identify and resolve project issues, escalating critical issues to senior management as needed.
* Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, status, and risks. Facilitate communication and collaboration between project team members, business stakeholders, and other relevant parties.
* Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the IT team, guiding them in the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and projects. Lead by example in adopting best practices, standards, and methodologies for IT operations, ensuring alignment with industry trends and emerging technologies.
* Quality Assurance and Testing: Oversee the quality assurance and testing process, ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and user requirements. Implement quality assurance processes and tools to monitor and evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Project Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including requirements, design documents, test plans, and status reports. Prepare and present project status reports and presentations to stakeholders and project sponsors as required.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
* Experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering IT projects on time and within budget.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
* Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Asana.
* Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred is preferred. Relevant certifications in IT, such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, are a plus.
