IT Project Manager – Application Selection and Implementation on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Project Manager in this role will support the IT Department with the Chematix system replacement project, a high-profile initiative starting with requirements gathering, RFP development, vendor selection, and full-cycle implementation. This part-time contract position reports to the Associate Director of the IT Project Management Office (IT PMO) and plays a critical role in driving project success while ensuring adherence to the organization’s standards, methodologies, and governance processes.
Deliverables
- Complete suite of project documentation, including project charter, management plans, change management plans, lessons learned, and project closure report.
- Coordination and oversight of solution delivery documentation (e.g., PIAs, security assessments, requirements documents).
- Monthly status reports, budget tracking, and reconciliation documentation.
- Risk and issue logs, communication plans, training plans, and engagement records.
- All project documentation stored and maintained in the official project repository.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and delivery of the Chematix replacement project within defined timelines and budgets.
- Ensure full compliance with IT PMO methodology, University policies, and solution delivery standards.
- Develop and maintain project documentation including project charters, management plans, change management plans, and closeout reports.
- Coordinate solution delivery artifacts such as Privacy Impact Assessments, Security Assessments, business requirements, design documents, and release documentation.
- Produce and manage monthly project status reports, budget trackers, and financial reconciliation activities.
- Conduct risk and issue management activities and escalate as needed.
- Lead or support organizational change management initiatives including stakeholder engagement, communications, and training.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams (e.g., Supply Chain, FOIP, Legal, Strategic Communications) to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide expert guidance and strategic input to IT leadership and key stakeholders.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels, from executive sponsors to project contributors.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience, with demonstrated experience in ERP projects (PeopleSoft preferred).
- Experience in full project lifecycle management, including RFP and vendor selection processes.
- Background in post-secondary education or public sector environments is considered an asset.
- Strong delivery focus with proven organizational change management experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- PMP certification (required).
- ITIL Foundations certification (required).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic thinker with sound problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Collaborative and service-oriented, with a focus on building effective working relationships

- Candidates in this role will be working a Hybrid Schedule of 3 days in the office
- Part-Time (80 hours/month), with the Potential to transition to full-time within a few months
