Job Title: IT Network Security Engineer, Network Engineering and Operations
Reports to: IT Senior Manager – Network Engineering and Operations
Department: IT Infrastructure and Operations
Job Purpose
The IT Network Security Engineer is responsible for the engineering, implementation, and operations support of AVEVA’s enterprise network and security infrastructures. Work as a member of the Global IT Network Engineering and Operations Team supporting network and security infrastructures at multiple datacenters and 40 offices worldwide.
Responsibilities – You will do:
The individual will be involved in the following critical activities:
This individual will focus primarily on network security infrastructures, including firewalls, load balancers, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Content Deliver Networks (CDN), Cloud Proxies, DNS Security, VPN gateways, Network Admission Control, and other aspects of network security.
Define and document network security configuration standards and network designs.
Participate in network and security infrastructure engineering discussions and decisions.
Provide Tier-3 and 4 support of network and security infrastructures.
Help provide 24x7 support coverage.
Help mentor and train operations support staff.
Network automation with tools such as Ansible and Terraform
Consistently provide high quality work in a deadline driven environment.
Accountable for accomplishing tasks both independently and collaboratively.

Requirements – You will have:
At least 3 years of extensive experience in implementing and support network security infrastructures.
Configuration, implementation and support of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, SSL encryption and decryption, web proxy, Web Application Firewalls, load balancers, DDoS protection and mitigation.
Sound understanding of network segmentation and security best practices.
Strong troubleshooting skills, including the use of Wireshark and packet analysis
Hands-on knowledge of networking, including routing and switching, Internet routing, DNS, and networking protocols.
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent training such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP training.
Desirable Knowledge And Skills – A PLUS
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field highly desirable
CISSP certification preferred.
Cisco CCNA or CCNP level hands-on knowledge
Experience working with Cisco networking and security products
Scripting and programming skills such as Python and PowerShell
Familiarity with Linux and MacOS
Cloud infrastructure (e.g. Azure, AWS) security knowledge and experience
