Feantsa, a leading organization dedicated to promoting social inclusion and support for the homeless, is seeking a dedicated IT Help Desk Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring our internal technology systems run smoothly, thereby allowing our staff to focus on making a difference in the community. We are looking for a motivated individual who can provide first-line support to our team, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and maintain our IT systems. As an IT Help Desk Technician, you will be the first point of contact for all IT-related inquiries and problems, assisting staff with everything from password resets to software installations. Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing issues quickly and effectively, which is essential in maintaining productivity within our organization. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, and possess a genuine desire to help others. Responsibilities
Provide first-line support to Feantsa staff for IT-related issues via phone, email, or in-person.
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords in active directory and other systems.
Document and track all support requests using the ticketing system.
Assist in the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers and switches.
Conduct regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure data security and integrity.
Requirements
Proven experience as an IT Help Desk Technician or similar role in an office environment.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common business applications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to assist diverse staff.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple tasks.
