Overall Responsibility

The IT Field Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing IT hardware and software across various locations. This role provides first and second-level technical support, ensuring optimal system performance and user experience. The technician works both independently and as part of a team to support the organization’s IT needs.

Working Independently

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, networks, and peripherals
• Provide user training and support on new or updated tech
• Perform routine maintenance, system updates, and security patches
• Track and document IT assets, maintenance activities, and user instructions
• Assist with IT project implementation, system configurations, and device installations
• Utilize an electronic ticketing system to manage, update, and resolve IT support requests
• Ensure compliance with Seton Collaborative policies and industry best practices
• Maintain proactive communication with management regarding issue resolution and escalations
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications And Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Computer Technology or related field (or equivalent experience); Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, software applications, networking, and IT infrastructure
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, cloud computing, and enterprise IT environments
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support users across different locations
• Ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve IT problems independently and collaboratively
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel between diocesan locations
  
  

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in office, IT service, and school environments
• May require evening, weekend, or holiday availability
• Must have a reliable vehicle for travel
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 35 pounds
• Requires standing or walking for extended periods
  
  

Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to office, school, and diocesan buildings, as well as professional meetings as needed.
