The IT Field Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing IT hardware and software across various locations. This role provides first and second-level technical support, ensuring optimal system performance and user experience. The technician works both independently and as part of a team to support the organization’s IT needs.
Working Independently
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, networks, and peripherals
Provide user training and support on new or updated tech
Perform routine maintenance, system updates, and security patches
Track and document IT assets, maintenance activities, and user instructions
Assist with IT project implementation, system configurations, and device installations
Utilize an electronic ticketing system to manage, update, and resolve IT support requests
Ensure compliance with Seton Collaborative policies and industry best practices
Maintain proactive communication with management regarding issue resolution and escalations
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications And Requirements
Associate’s degree in Computer Technology or related field (or equivalent experience); Bachelor’s degree preferred
2-4 years of hands-on experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role
Strong knowledge of operating systems, software applications, networking, and IT infrastructure
Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, cloud computing, and enterprise IT environments
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support users across different locations
Ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve IT problems independently and collaboratively
Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel between diocesan locations
Working Conditions And Physical Requirements
Work is performed in office, IT service, and school environments
May require evening, weekend, or holiday availability
Must have a reliable vehicle for travel
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 35 pounds
Requires standing or walking for extended periods
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to office, school, and diocesan buildings, as well as professional meetings as needed.
