Essential Functions

Infrastructure + Operations Management

• Identify technology needs and make recommendations that align with business goals and future growth.
• Develop and implement strategies for the design, deployment, and maintenance of technical infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage systems, and cloud platforms.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security while identifying areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
• Oversee disaster recovery and failover planning, data protection, and compliance with federal technology requirements.
• Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), track performance metrics, and implement operational improvements.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
  
  

Team Leadership

• Manage internal IT team members as well as vendors, consultants, and managed service providers (MSPs).
• Recruit, mentor, and support a growing team of administrators, analysts, and support technicians.
• Promote collaboration, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing across departments.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and address issues proactively.
  
  

Vendor + Budget Oversight

• Evaluate and manage relationships with IT vendors, consultants, and software providers.
• Oversee licensing, renewals, and subscription tracking across all tools and platforms.
• Develop and manage the IT budget, identifying cost optimization opportunities.
  
  

Compliance + Security

• Ensure IT operations meet compliance standards for data privacy, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Maintain robust security protocols to protect sensitive information and company systems.
• Support training efforts across the firm on cybersecurity awareness and secure use of technology.
  
  

Position Requirements

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure management, or a similar leadership role. Experience in a managed service provider (MSP), consulting environment, or the AEC industry is highly preferred.
• Technical Experience: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including network architecture, cloud platforms, data security, disaster recovery, and enterprise systems. Proficiency in managing hybrid IT environments and integrating modern tools to improve operations and efficiency.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to effectively convey technical concepts to executive leadership and cross-functional teams. Skilled in communicating IT goals, risks, and solutions to align with business objectives.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts effectively to clients.
• Strategic Thinking: Track record of aligning IT strategy with organizational goals, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing scalable, long-term technology solutions.
