LA is seeking an innovative Director of IT, responsible for overseeing the agency’s IT infrastructure and leading the broader IT team. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of agency IT systems, security protocols and audit compliance. The Director of IT will collaborate closely with the leadership team to support business operations and ensure that technology solutions are aligned with company goals. This role reports to the agency’s Managing Director.
This position is a hybrid role that involves both leadership and hands-on management of IT systems.
We are looking for someone who embraces AI; this role will have a significant focus on AI adoption, particularly as it relates to infrastructure and security.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage the IT team to ensure high performance and alignment with company goals
- Provide clear expectations to direct reports to ensure accountability vis-a-vis job responsibilities

- Vault Coordinator and Runner Supervisor
- Archivist and Data Librarian
Security & IT Protocols
- Develop, implement, and monitor security protocols to ensure the protection of company data and compliance with industry standards
- Oversee and ensure the agency is prepared to pass all client audits related to IT infrastructure and operations
IT Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of IT systems, including hardware, software and cloud services, ensuring optimal performance
- Ensure contingency plans are in place to address any/all IT emergencies and that the IT team is trained on implementation
- Work within the context of the IT budget to ensure redundancy across as many systems as possible
Collaboration
- Work closely with other department heads, including the Director of AI, to support business initiatives and technological needs
- Proactively seek out and keep department heads abreast of the latest technological developments and advancements in an effort to enhance operational efficiencies
Budget Management
- Manage the IT department budget, making recommendations for resource allocation, tools and equipment
- Ensure proper lead time is provided for leadership to consider large-scale IT purchases
Research & Development
- Stay up to date on the latest hardware and software solutions, especially as it pertains to the entertainment industry, so that the agency stays at the forefront of technological change
- Train departmental and agency staff as needed to harness the capabilities of the latest technological innovations
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in IT management and team leadership, with a strong focus on security protocols and audit compliance
- Expertise in IT systems, cloud computing, and security protocols
- A familiarity and interest in one or more of the following (or other) AI tools (Midjourney, Reve; Ideogram; Stable Diffusion, etc)
- Tech Knowledge:
- Windows servers with Active Directory
- Jamf Pro computer management
- Google Workspace Enterprise
- Sophos Security - Firewalls, AV, VPN
- Brocade and UniFi switches and Access Points
- Some servers and RAIDs are Linux-based
- Workstations are 95% Mac, 5% PC
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- Strategic Communication & Business Continuity Planning: must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including agency partners and leadership. This includes translating complex systems or concepts in a way that is clear, actionable, and aligned with business goals
- The role also requires a strategic mindset, with the ability to propose and implement business continuity plans that reflect cost considerations and operational priorities
- Effective Communication: Ability to clearly articulate large-scale IT initiatives, ensuring the team and broader company are aligned with project goals and progress. This includes proactively sharing updates, challenges, and solutions with relevant stakeholders, fostering transparency, and promoting team engagement
- Problem-Solving & Solution-Oriented Mindset: Strong ability to not only identify issues but also take the lead in developing and presenting actionable solutions to the team and leadership
- Expected to bring solutions to the table when challenges arise, ensuring timely and effective resolution of IT-related matters

- The base compensation range for this position in the selected city is $120,000-170,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, location, prior experience, and education
