What do IT Consultants do?
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Consultant to provide intermediate-level expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems for our clients. This role involves supporting clients with tailored technical solutions, troubleshooting moderately complex issues, and ensuring system reliability, security, and efficiency. The engineer will also be responsible for keeping detailed documentation and work logs, as well as provide technical support both remotely and on-site to ensure client satisfaction and system functionality.
This position will work onsite in Coon Rapids, MN
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of client IT environments to identify areas for improvement. Provide recommendations for system upgrades, optimizations, and new implementations. Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and align IT solutions accordingly.
- Deploy and configure IT systems, including servers, networks, and storage solutions. Ensure seamless integration of new systems into existing infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain servers, including performance tuning, patching, and updates. Monitor server health and address potential issues proactively.
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Optimize network performance and ensure secure connectivity.
- Implement security measures to protect client systems and sensitive data. Conduct regular security audits and recommend improvements.
- Set up and monitor backup systems to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness. Test recovery procedures to guarantee reliability in case of system failures.
- Address escalated technical issues from Level 1 support teams. Provide timely solutions to moderately complex system problems.
- Provide technical support to clients both remotely and on-site. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure minimal disruption to client operations.
- Record time spent on resolving support requests and project tasks. Provide detailed reports to clients on task completion and resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and time entries. Create user guides and technical documentation for client systems.
- Work closely with client IT teams and other engineers to deliver seamless solutions. Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress and challenges.
Who fits?
