Job Description
HealthPartners is hiring an
IT Business Analyst to support technical solutions for our
Marketing and Sales Systems. In this key role, the analyst bridges the gap between business needs and technical execution — translating requirements, prioritizing IT efforts, and ensuring all approvals and documentation are in place for smooth and effective change management.
The business analyst will report to the Manager of HealthPlan Systems and will become part of a dynamic team of five, which includes fellow business analysts and quality assurance partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or Management Information Systems or 4+ years of IT experience
- Three (3) years of business analyst experience
- Strong critical thinking skills to effectively analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and business partners.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Adaptable and open-minded when managing high degrees of change.
- Proficient in modern technology and terminology
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Marketing or Sales technology systems (e.g., CRM, CMS, digital campaign tools)
- Understanding of sales pipelines, renewal processes, or lead generation workflows
- Understanding of healthcare industry workflows including:
- Insurance enrollment and renewal cycles
- Regulatory and compliance timeline considerations
Hours/Location:
- M-F; Days
- This position is primarily remote, with occasional on-site requirements.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a liaison between business partners and application development team members to analyze, document and validate requirements.
- Interprets and documents business partner needs into functional requirements.
- Develops technical specifications and organizational processes aligned with defined project goals.
- Reviews application issues and challenges, informing IT's business partners of status and expected resolutions.
- Tracks and manages new application requests, change requests, and open issues for supported business processes.
- Ensures that the appropriate approvals and documentation for change control and problem management are retained.
- Documents business process flows and data flows.
- Creates and executes test plans for small to mid-sized system changes; assists business partners with test creation, execution, and reporting.
- Performs additional duties as required to support team and business needs.
