Job Title: IT Analyst
Location: Pasadena TX
Overview
The IT Analyst role will provide a wide range of support and customer service on various hardware and software issues in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Support client computer user productivity and environment, focusing on resolution of computer software and hardware problems.
Responsibilities
Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing facility and maintain a safety-first mentality on every task. Strong knowledge and support of PC hardware and software while maintaining SLA’s
General Local User Support
Basic PC/Laptop and network troubleshooting and repair
Peripheral support to include printers, faxes, projectors, etc.
PC/Laptop and peripheral setup and upgrades, as directed
Application support and installation
Log all calls and actions taken
General IT Shop Support
Maintain PC inventories and pertinent data (spreadsheet with description/user/location). Keep the IT environments clean and well-managed
Image or configure PC’s, perform PC imaging or reloading, as needed
Evaluate existing systems
virus and security updates are current
check the overall health of the system
review installed software for health, relevance, need and licensing
Store and recycle old equipment
Backup Monitoring and tape exchange, as directed
Provide alternate IT support for all issues when the IT Generalist is unavailable.
Be prepared to be on call and to work with technical support from corporate or elsewhere
Be prepared to travel to Port Arthur or to Houston Sales Office (The Woodlands)
Ad hoc assignments such as office relocations, reports, file, and data support.
Support the IT security policies, processes, and procedures to comply with mandates, including Sarbanes Oxley, HSES requirements, etc.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship with customers, peers, and management
Other duties as assigned; this may include:
Assisting with DCS (Control Systems) documentation and support
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:
3 – 4+ years’ experience in a helpdesk or IT support environment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Associate's degree in IT
Microsoft Certified Professional

PC Hardware
Remote Access concepts
All Windows Operating Systems
Microsoft Office (all products)
Ad hoc application support and research

PC imaging

Be able to tolerate a stressful environment as well as multitask; Able to work through multiple interruptions and still maintain focus on the task at hand

Skills, software knowledge and/or certifications specific to the industry/function
Ability to physically maneuver while providing support that may require crawling, climbing, or walking long distance in plant environment
Travel 25% - to Port Arthur, TX, and Houston Sales office (The Woodlands)
Willingness to be on call and travel to the plant after hours as required.
