Over the last decade, Webrepublic has grown from an ambitious startup into Switzerland’s leading digital agency. More recently, Webrepublic has launched a subsidiary in South Africa to work hand-in-hand with our HQ in Switzerland. Our team in Cape Town has grown, and we are now looking for a Project Coordinator & Administrator to expand our local presence into a large-scale operation.
As an
IT Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting our team in Cape Town, as well as the Zurich office. Additionally, part of the role will be to support one of our subsidiaries, PACE. You will be responsible for ensuring that our infrastructure is maintained and delivers a high level of service.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the
Head of Information, Infrastructure and Security services, your duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Maintain essential IT infrastructure – operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware,
- Own IT projects and solutions that support larger business initiatives,
- Run business‑critical systems that provide commercial advantage in the global marketplace,
- Enable faster, smarter processes and develop analytics to provide meaningful insights,
- Communicate clearly with internal and external partners on project status, activities, and achievements.
Qualifications And Skills
As an ideal candidate, you must have the following:
- National Diploma, Higher Certificate, or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field,
- 2 + years’ proven experience in an IT administration or similar role,
- Proactive and able to work autonomously,
- Server‑administration skills (user/group management, security permissions, Group Policy, print services); ability to research event‑log warnings/errors and monitor resources,
- Experience monitoring datacentre health, responding to hardware issues, and building/testing new servers as needed,
- Ability to maintain internal infrastructure (laptops/desktops, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates) and support internet, intranet, LANs/WANs, and network segments,
- Strong troubleshooting skills; ability to identify root cause and provide L2/L3 support,
- Familiarity with routine and scheduled system audits, including backups,
- Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies;
- Working knowledge of:
- Programming/scripting languages and major operating systems,
- Enterprise backup & recovery, performance‑monitoring tools, Active Directory,
- Virtualisation, HTTP traffic, content delivery, caching,
- Project management practices,
- Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud);
- Nice to have:
- experience with JumpCloud and XenServer,
- knowledge of German language.
