SUMMARY:
The IP Workflow Solutions Analyst is responsible for evaluating and supporting the firm’s IP workflow and systems, including the education of IPDAS, eWorkflow and the firm’s customer number practice.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates new version releases of IPDAS, eWorkflow and related IP software in collaboration with Information Technology and Application Development teams.
- Triages inquiries and enhancement requests for IPDAS and eWorkflow and collaborates with the application development team to implement solutions.
- Creates new and modifies existing IPDAS templates, and provides guidance as needed.
- Prepares, maintains, and distributes educational materials for IPDAS and eWorkflow, including periodic tips and notices for effective use of these firm systems.
- Develops and delivers learning opportunities to support existing and new technologies.
- Conducts an overview of IPDAS, eWorkflow, and Virtual File for new and existing employees.
- Collaborates with other firm departments as it relates to system and procedural projects to ensure compliance with existing firm policies and procedures.
- Assists with ongoing development of various workflow tools and practices and helps identify areas which can be made more efficient through automation and process improvement.
- Maintains the firm’s customer number practice including attending to requests for new joint customer numbers and updates to associations/disassociations of firm/client practitioners to the firm’s general and joint customer numbers, including the transfer of joint customers to new counsel as appropriate.
- Assists new Patent Agents and lateral registered practitioners with MyUSPTO.gov account maintenance, including preparation of USPTO PTO-2042a form and providing additional guidance as needed.
- Assists with various projects that align with the goals of IP Services department and the firm.
- Assesses practices to ensure firm needs are met, and as necessary, coordinates with firm management to address concerns and to implement practice improvements.
- Monitors IPDAS usage and as requested provides metrics for management review.
- May participate on firm committees and/or act as product owner for proprietary software.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required in the field of Intellectual property or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 10 or more years of direct IP experience required.
- Comprehensive understanding of Federal Rules and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Rules.
- Proficiency with IP software (CPi and IPDAS preferred) with a strong knowledge of Microsoft products and video conferencing tools.
- Conscientious with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, technical, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment.
- Exercises good judgment and discretion in all matters. Ability to maintain confidentiality of matters and other firm business information.
- Punctual and reliable and able to meet set deadlines and work effectively under pressure. Flexible to adapt to changing needs, priorities, process and organizational changes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate people.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate through presentations and trainings.
- Ability to adhere to established work schedule, but with flexibility required to respond to workload demands including overtime requests when needed.

The expected salary range for this position is $95,500-$157,200 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
