Job Description
IP Network Integration Engineer is responsible for technical implementation of IP routing projects that are executed by the Network Services Delivery Center. Is in charge of design validation testing, network acceptance testing, providing technical procedure (MOPs), configuration templates and node specific configuration, acts as subject matter expert in IP/MPLS domain in all parts of the solution - access, aggregation, core, working with NOKIA project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Test Plan Development: Collaborate with Network Design to develop comprehensive test plans, strategies, MOPs, and technical documentation aligned with project requirements.
- Lab Environment Setup & Validation: Configure and validate test environments, including MOPs and configurations, to ensure successful implementation of network solutions.
- Configuration Management: Create and maintain configuration templates and node-specific configurations for various network functionalities (routing, MPLS, security, QoS, etc.).
- Implementation & Integration: Implement, integrate, migrate, and upgrade IP/MPLS equipment (both physical and virtual) according to project specifications, design, and MOPs.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network, software, and hardware issues encountered during network activities.
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with IP technical support teams (TAC, R&D, Design) to ensure seamless communication and knowledge sharing.
- Project Support: Contribute to project effort estimations, scope of work definition, and risk management, ensuring project success.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive improvement initiatives, share technical knowledge, and collaborate with product units on issues and roadmaps, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Key Skills And Experience
You have:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in the telecommunications sector, specifically within the IP/MPLS domain.
- Proficient knowledge of IP technologies including IPv4, IPv6, routing and switching, MPLS, segment routing, services L2 VPN, L3 VPN, QoS, multicast, BNG, CGNAT, redundancy
- Experience in configuring routers and switches using Command Line Interface (CLI) for Nokia and Cisco equipment.
- Nokia NRS2 certification or equivalent certification from another vendor highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Nokia Network Management Systems (NMS), including network element integration and alarm monitoring.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Knowledge of SDH/PDH, PSTN, FTN technologies, or experience with network management tools like Cramer is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a meticulous and proactive approach to teamwork.
- Willingness to work night shifts (time to time).
