Job Responsibilities:
Serves as a technical specialist responsible for monitoring, operating and managing, troubleshooting, and restoring to service any components comprising the DoD Information Network (DoDIN) and associated IP networks. These include data/voice communications equipment, routers, crypto devices (KG-340, KG-175A/D/G, KIV-7, KIV-19), routing, and network appliances (CSU, DSU, etc).
Performs proactive monitoring of network elements alarms and alerts to identify those components/elements that may lead to or already are causing network degradation or failure. Accomplishes this through network management system(s) and associated assets on a continuous (rotating shifts) basis.
Performs fault isolation, diagnostic, and assessment functions to include determination and execution of corrective action(s) on a real-time basis.
Interfaces with functional users and remote operations centers in routine and reactive monitoring situations.
Maintains logs and records associated with reported problems or situations.
Executes all reporting functions and data input associated with network management. Monitors security posture of network(s); reports suspected violations to designated authority.
Coordinates with configuration management and implementation entities to ensure optimum dissemination of information and network efficiency.
Performs operator-level maintenance on all components and assets associated with network management systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Junior Level: Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with transport technologies.
Mid-Level: Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with transport technologies.
Senior Level: Must have a minimum of 5 plus years of experience working with transport technologies.
Able to work in a shift work environment as we are a 24/7 operation.
Remedy GTMS/ITSM experience is a plus.
Network+, CCNA, CCENT, JNCIA, and CCNP are also desirable.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification

Active Secret Security Clearance
Education:
A minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
