The Manager, Investment Accounting will help to oversee the accounting, compliance and tax strategy of the Company’s investments.

About the Opportunity:

Direct the accounting functions of the Group’s investment division and associated entities, encompassing a globally diversified portfolio that includes publicly traded securities, derivatives, venture capital, and private equity fund investments across North America and internationally.

• Oversee the accurate and timely recording of all investment-related transactions, including capital calls, distributions, and valuation adjustments for private equity funds.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive monthly investment tracking and reporting packages.
• Monitor cash positions across various brokerage accounts and lines of credit, ensuring effective and strategic cash management practices.
• Manage all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and planning for the investment portfolio in collaboration with external tax advisors, ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S. tax regulations.
• Assist with the month-end close process and preparation/review of financial statements for multiple corporate entities within the Group.
• Support corporate tax compliance by preparing or reviewing tax filings and returns for applicable entities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external accountants, ensuring timely completion of year-end audits and reviews for selected corporate entities.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements for the Group, ensuring accuracy and adherence to applicable accounting standards.
• Perform additional tasks and provide support on ad hoc projects as needed.

About You:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field;
• CPA or equivalent designation preferred; CFA (or in progress) is an asset.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience
• Experience with PE, fund accounting and public accounting experience are preferred
• Strong financial modelling experience

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $130,000/year
