Inventory Supervisor - Job Description

At Nirvana Cannabis, the Inventory Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the inventory department and assisting the Lead Inventory Supervisor. This role requires a strong understanding of inventory control systems, Arizona cannabis regulations, and operational procedures. The Inventory Supervisor must lead by example, uphold company policies and SOPs, and ensure that inventory is managed accurately and compliantly. Key traits for success in this role include consistency, dedication, attention to detail, and strong leadership skills. The Inventory Supervisor is expected to operate with the same level of accountability and standards as the Inventory Lead, ensuring that expectations are met and team performance remains high.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assist with oversight of all inventory-related operations at your assigned Arizona dispensary location, maintaining accurate records and compliance with SOPs.
  • Enforce disciplinary standards consistently and fairly across the team.
  • Assist in the complete training of all inventory employees and support their development.
  • Uphold merchandising standards across the sales floor and display areas to ensure a professional, organized environment.
  • Provide clear communication to all support staff, fellow supervisors, store management, and corporate leadership as needed.
  • Exhibit strong leadership by setting the tone for compliance, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Delegate inventory tasks to staff with clarity and follow-through to ensure timely completion.
  • Participate in and contribute to team meetings, goal-setting sessions, and performance reviews with inventory management.
  • Write and submit weekly reports to the Lead Inventory Supervisor including staffing updates, compliance issues, operational needs, and performance notes.
  • Nominate and coordinate recognition of team members (e.g., "Rockstar of the Week").
  • Track employee progress and identify training gaps or opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Audit waste logs regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Review state compliance checklists monthly in preparation for random Arizona state inspections.
  • Prepare and support End-of-Month (EOM) audits in collaboration with management.

Essential Duties

  • Perform daily walkthroughs of the sales floor and inventory rooms at the beginning and midpoint of your shift.
  • Log tour notes in the system and delegate tasks based on findings using the department task board.
  • Process and intake residual invoices from the previous day and assign items to appropriate storage or employee areas.
  • Review upcoming promotions and ensure proper stock levels and product placement for the next day's deals.
  • Confirm that all cleaning and closing procedures are being executed thoroughly and consistently.
  • Conduct daily compliance checks in alignment with Arizona cannabis regulations and internal SOPs.
  • Collaborate with the inventory team to complete departmental goals and maintain operational flow.
  • Follow up with staff on completion of delegated tasks and ensure accountability across the shift.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to delegate tasks and provide feedback effectively.
  • Strong leadership presence and ability to uphold standards consistently.
  • Knowledge of Arizona state cannabis regulations and dispensary compliance protocols.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of cannabis inventory experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in inventory or logistics is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving through the facility.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in back-of-house storage areas and inventory rooms.
