Inventory Data Entry Specialist

Manufacturing company with office in the west suburbs of Chicago seeks an outstanding Inventory Data Entry Specialist. Candidates with at least 5 years of professional office experience will be considered. Ideal candidate will have work experience demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and strong math and critical thinking skills, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Office Manager, the Inventory Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for inventory data entry, inventory management, accounts receivable support and special projects such as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter data about incoming steel master coils into inventory database
  • Enter production tags into proprietary software system for billing purposes and to update inventory
  • Check source documents for accuracy prior to entry; sort information to establish priorities
  • Provide general support to office manager and accounting function
  • Reconcile inventory receipts to supplier invoice to approve for payment
  • Communicate with colleagues to resolve discrepancies between inventory receipt and purchase order
  • Communicate with receiving to resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Prepare supplier debit memos and submit to accounting
  • Update inventory specifications and pricing when needed
  • Track inventory receipts delivered to outside warehouses. Enter data into inventory database.
  • Track and file all documents

Required Skills:

  • Develop high level of proficiency with company’s proprietary software over time
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software
  • High level of aptitude with basic math, logic and problem solving
  • Rigorous approach to double checking work; superior attention to detail
  • Able to establish priorities and meet deadlines across multiple projects while keeping supervisors appraised of progress on all fronts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of personal organization
