JOB TITLE: Inventory Controller
DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain / Operations
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The Inventory Controller is responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory levels, ensuring accuracy, and minimizing discrepancies. The role demands advanced Excel expertise to analyse large datasets and enhance inventory tracking efficiency. It is a hands-on role assisting the warehouse team and working closely with the warehouse manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inventory Management:
• Monitor stock levels, conduct cycle counts, and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
• Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Data Analysis & Reporting (Advanced Excel):
• Develop and maintain dynamic Excel dashboards for real-time inventory tracking.
• Utilize pivot tables, Power Query, and complex formulas (XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, etc.) for data manipulation.
Process Optimization:
• Implement Excel-based tools to reduce manual entry errors and improve efficiency.
• Recommend process improvements based on data-driven insights.
System Coordination:
• Liaise between warehouse teams and ERP/WMS systems, ensuring data integrity.
• Support inventory software integration and troubleshoot Excel-related system issues.
Audit & Compliance:
• Assist in internal/external audits by providing accurate inventory reports.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Mastery of Power Query, Power Pivot, array formulas, and data modelling.
• Exceptionally strong Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in inventory control, warehousing, or supply chain.
• Knowledge of ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
• Certification in Excel (e.g., Microsoft Excel Expert) preferred.
