The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is seeking qualified educators to serve as Intern Program Instructors for participants enrolled in SCOE's Preliminary Intern Credential Program. Intern Program Instructors provide course instruction, mentorship, and teaching standards expertise to teacher interns as they develop the skills needed for success in California public school classrooms. SCOE's Intern Program is designed to support the success of new teachers through coursework, coaching, and clinical practice. Instructors play a critical role in facilitating the application of the California Teacher Performance Expectations (TPEs) and the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTPs), while fostering a commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth. Instructors should possess strong content expertise, recent classroom experience, and a deep commitment to equity and excellence in education. Responsibilities: • Embed instruction on classroom management, English Language Development (ELD), Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and equity practices. • Support intern candidates' reflection, growth, and successful completion of embedded fieldwork and Performance Assessments (TPAs). • Prepare and distribute course syllabi; maintain accurate grades and attendance records. • Attend required faculty meetings, trainings, and accreditation activities. • Communicate and collaborate regularly with SCOE program leadership and support staff. • Teach assigned courses aligned with the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTPs) and Teacher Performance Expectations (TPEs), including TPE 7: Literacy Instruction. Minimum Qualifications: • Valid Clear Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate), Multiple Subject, or Single Subject (Art, Dance, Mathematics, Music, Science, or Theatre) credential. • Seven (7) or more years of successful classroom teaching experience. • Experience facilitating professional development or collaborative learning for educators. • Strong knowledge of California content standards, frameworks, and diverse educational practices. • Proficiency with online teaching platforms such as Zoom, Canvas, and Google Docs. Compensation Faculty Course Compensation: $125/hour (based on participant enrollment) Preservice Instructor Compensation: 1-49 students: $500.00 per session (4 hours) 50+ students: $625.00 per session (5 hours) Intern Instructor Compensation: 1-14 students: $875.00 per session (7 hours) 15-39 students: $1,000.00 per session (8 hours) 40+ students: $1,250.00 per session (10 hours) Faculty Meetings: $125/hour (required attendance at all-faculty and specialized faculty meetings) Commitment: Assignments generally run from August through June. Course assignments are determined based on program needs and participant enrollment.
